Progressive Kickboxing

 

In this lesson we concentrate on conditioning, fitness, and cardio levels.

 A GOOD WORKOUT!!

Our Kickboxing class incorporates and blends the following arts:

Muay Thai Boxing - American style Kickboxing - Jun Fan Kickboxing - Western Boxing - Boxe Francaise Savate.

The Progressive Kickboxing typically consists of:

  • Warm up excercises
  • Stretching 
  • Body Conditioning
  • Shadow boxing
  • Footwork
  • Skipping / Thai knees
  • Hand and Foot techniques
  • Attacking and Defensive techniques
  • Group Exercises and Scenarios
  • Class Discussions
  • JKD Philosophy

The Progressive Kickboxing and Streetwise classes are often blended into the two hour lesson, but the Progressive Kickboxing techniques are learned and practised with a partner using various different pads for developing speed, accuracy and power. Thai pads come into their own here and help to develop and hone your power shots. Focus pads for more light kicking work or hand techniques.

When WE use pads they DO hit back!! And we train defensive moves from various attacking hand techniques that are thrown with pads to keep things realistic and flowing with the combinations, bob and weaving, slipping, parrying etc.

All classes are suitable for complete beginners, intermediate or advanced students.
